About

Since its formation in 2020, the Delachaise Ensemble is quickly establishing itself as one of the most innovative and exciting music groups in the greater New Orleans area and Gulf Coast region.

Featuring violinists Moises Cunha and Elizabeth Crute Cunha, violist Catherine Matushek, and cellist Jake Fowler as the core ensemble, the Delachaise Ensemble is a chamber music collective of New Orleans-based musicians dedicated to presenting accessible and innovative programs to the local community.

Passionate about cross-discipline artistic collaborations, the Delachaise Ensemble regularly collaborates with dancers, visual artists, composers, and musicians across genres. Recent projects include collaborations with the Marigny Opera Ballet and Melange Dance Company. The Delachaise Ensemble is also the Ensemble-in-Residence with the Northern Neck Chamberfest in Virginia, and has performed with the Crescent City Chamber Music Festival in New Orleans.

The Delachaise Ensemble is featured as the core ensemble of Fever’s Candlelight Concerts in New Orleans. In this capacity they have performed hundreds of concerts ranging from timeless classical masterpieces to beloved holiday favorites to creative renditions of pop, rock, hip-hop, soul, and Latin music.

The members of Delachaise Ensemble are also passionate educators who maintain private studios and teach through community institutions such as the University of New Orleans, Homer Plessy School, LPO Academy, and Krewe of Strings Camp & Festival.

The Delachaise Ensemble is an active and energetic presence both on the concert stage and in our community.
